Farali, Gujarati Cuisine: Snacks, Farsan

Farali Bhajiya is deep-fried farsan prepared during the fasting time like Navratri, Ekadasi, Mahashivratri, Janmashtami or other upvas/ vrat days.

Cooking Time: 20 Minutes

Pre-Preparation Time: Not Needed

Level Of Cooking: Easy

Serving: 15 - 20 Pieces

Ingredients:

Amaranth Grain Flour: 300gm
Water Chestnut Flour: 250gm
Potato: 2 (big Size)
Capsicum: 2
Ginger-chili Paste: 3 Tablespoon
Red Chili Powder: 1.5 Tablespoon
Cumin-coriander Powder: 1.5 Tablespoon
Coriander Leaves: 2-3 Tablespoon (finely Chopped)
Baking Soda: 1/4 Teaspoon
Oil: To Fry
Salt: As Per Taste

How To Cook:

Step 1: Peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces. Allow them to boil for some-time in salted water.

Step 2: Drain half cooked potatoes and keep them aside. Now cut capsicum into small pieces.

Step 3: Mix amaranth flour, water chestnut flour, potatoes, capsicum pieces, ginger-chili paste, red chili powder, finely chopped coriander, cumin-coriander powder, salt and baking soda in a vessel.
 
Step 4: Add water to the mixture until it is ready to coat the fritter.

Step 5:
Heat oil in a pan. Add few tablespoon heated oil to the mixture and mix well.

Step 6:
Ma...ke fritters of medium size on high flame.

Step 7:
Fry the fritters till golden brown. Also, after every batch turn down the flame to medium.

Step 8: Serve hot.
