Farali Kofta Curry

Farali, Fusion Cuisine: Sabji, Main Course

Kofta is a delicious Indian dish and here we are sharing Farali version of the same for your fasting time like Navratri, Ekadasi, Mahashivratri, Janmashtami or other upvas/ vrat days.

Farali Kofta Curry

Cooking Time: 25 Minutes

Pre-Preparation Time: Not Needed

Level Of Cooking: Medium

Serving: For 4 to 5 persons

Ingredients:

For Gravy : Amaranth Flour: 200gm
Water-chestnut Flour: 150gm
Unripe Banana: 6-7
Ginger-chilly Paste: 4-5 Tablespoon
Red-chilly Powder: 1 Tablespoon
Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves: 4 Tablespoon
Cumin-coriander Powder: 2 Tablespoon
Clove Powder: 1/4 Teaspoon
Cinnamon Powder: 1/4 Teaspoon
Oil: To Fry
Milk-cream: 1 Teaspoon
Salt: As Per Taste
For Kofta : Tomato: 750gm
Boiled Potato: 200gm
Ginger-chilly Paste: 2-3 Tablespoon
Red-chilly Powder: 1 Tablespoon
Tomato Sauce: 2 Tablespoon (not Mandatory)
Sugar: 7-8 Tablespoon
Cinnamon Powder: 1/2 Teaspoon
Clove Powder: 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt: As Per Taste
Oil: 1/2 Tablespoon
Cumin Seeds: 1/4 Tablespoon
Cheese: As Per Taste
Finely Chopped Coriander: 3 Tablespoon

How To Cook:

For Gravy :
Step 1: Boil the unripe bananas with the help of steam. After that grate them.
Step 2: Sift amaranth flour and water-chestnut flour in a vessel to remove lumps and debris.
Step 3: Now add ginger-chilly paste, red-chilly powder, cumin-coriander powder, cinnamon powder, 2 tablespoon finely chopped coriander leaves, milk-cream, clove powder and  1/2 tablespoon oil to the mixture and mix well.
Step 4: Add the grated banana and salt to this mixture and again mix well all the ingredients.
Step 5: With the help of luke-warm water, make a hard dough out of this mixture and roll small ...balls out of it.
Step 6: Heat oil and fry the rolled balls till golden pink and keep them aside.

For Kofta :
Step 1: Cut tomatoes and make pulp out of it.
Step 2: Mash potatoes. Add them to the pulp and mix them well in a mixer grinder.
Step 3: Now add ginger-chilly paste, red-chilly powder, sugar, cinnamon powder, clove powder, finely chopped coriander and salt to the mixture.
Step 4: Heat oil in a pan and tamper cumin seeds in it. Add the mixture to it and allow it to come to boil on medium flame. When the gravy thickens remove it from flame.

Serving Preparation:
Place kofta in a plate and pour gravy evenly over it. Garnish it with finely chopped coriander leaves and grated cheese. Serve hot.

Note: Instead of cinnamon powder and clove powder one can use 1/2 tablespoon mixed spices powder.
