Pithla (Maharashtrian Dish) : Ingredients List:










Besan (Gram flour)125-150gm, Oil - 1 teaspoon, Onion - 1 (medium size), Curry Leaves - 2-3, Cumin powder- 3 teaspoon, Mustard seed - 1 teaspoon, Common Salt - 2-3 teaspoon, Turmeric Powder - 2 teaspoon, Green Chilly - 3 pieces or Red Chilly Powder- 1 teaspoon

Preparation Method :

Step 1: Saute finely chopped onion into a pan without adding oil.

Step 2: When the onion pieces turn light brown add a teaspoon of oil to it. Also add curry leaves, mustard seeds and cumin powder to it.

Step 3: In a separate utensil mix besan with water. Stir well and form a paste.

Step 4: Add this thin paste to the pan. Now add turmeric powder, chilly and salt to it. Mix well.

Step 5: Cook the mixture with continuous stirring for atleast 5-10 minutes on medium heat. The mixture will have a homogeneous thick texture.

Step 6: Remove the mixture and serve hot with Juvar Bhakhri or Wheat Bhakhri.
