Saat Dhan No Khichdo is very tasty and healthy winter special recipe. Populer cuisine for sankranti / uttarayan festival in Gujarat and many part of India.

Saat Dhaan Khichdo

Cooking Time: 30 Minutes

Pre-Preparation Time: 8 Hours

Level Of Cooking: Medium

Serving: For 6 to 8 persons

Ingredients:

Green Gram: 2 Tablespoon
Pink Lentil: 1 Tablespoon
Moth Bean: 1 Tablespoon
Navy Beans: 1 Tablespoon
Chick Peas: 1 Tablespoon
Pounded Wheat: 100gm
Millet: 50 Gm
Oil: 2 Tablespoon
Onion (medium Size): 2
Cumin - Coriander Powder: 2 Tablespoon
Red Chilly Powder: 1/2 Tablespoon
Gram Masala: 1 Tablespoon
Turmeric Powder: 1/2 Tablespoon
Mustard Seeds: 1 Tablespoon
Cumin Seeds: 1 Tablespoon
Asafoetida: 1/4 Tablespoon
Ginger + Green Chilly + Garlic Paste: 1.5 Tablespoon
Citric Acid: 1/4 Tablespoon

How To Cook:

Step 1: Wash green gram, moth bean, chick peas, kidney beans, pink lentils, pounded wheat and millet with water. Soak all these ingredients in warm water for 7 - 8 hours. Add Citric acid while soaking.

Step 2: Heat oil in pressure cooker. Add rai, cumin seeds and asafoetida to it.

Step 3:
When the seeds pop add chopped pieces of onion and fry till pink. Now add ginger-garlic-chilly paste to it and stir for a minute.

Step 4:
Now add turmeric powder, cumin-coriander powder and red chilly powder to it and mix well.

Step 5:
Now add the soaked pulses, pounded wheat and millet to it. Mi...x well.

Step 6:
Add 500-700ml water and salt to it.

Step 7:
Close the lid and bring pressure 3 - 4 times on medium flame.

Step 8:
Turn off the flame and allow the mixture to rest.

Step 9:
Open the lid. Add chopped coriander leaves to it and serve hot with curd.
