Saat Dhaan Khichdo

Saat Dhan No Khichdo is very tasty and healthy winter special recipe. Populer cuisine for sankranti / uttarayan festival in Gujarat and many part of India.

Serving: For 6 to 8 persons
How To Cook:
Step 1: Wash green gram, moth bean, chick peas, kidney beans, pink lentils, pounded wheat and millet with water. Soak all these ingredients in warm water for 7 - 8 hours. Add Citric acid while soaking.
Step 2: Heat oil in pressure cooker. Add rai, cumin seeds and asafoetida to it.
Step 3: When the seeds pop add chopped pieces of onion and fry till pink. Now add ginger-garlic-chilly paste to it and stir for a minute.
Step 4: Now add turmeric powder, cumin-coriander powder and red chilly powder to it and mix well.
Step 5: Now add the soaked pulses, pounded wheat and millet to it. Mi

Step 6: Add 500-700ml water and salt to it.
Step 7: Close the lid and bring pressure 3 - 4 times on medium flame.
Step 8: Turn off the flame and allow the mixture to rest.
Step 9: Open the lid. Add chopped coriander leaves to it and serve hot with curd.
