Sabudana Vada

Sabudana vada is a traditional deep fried fritter from Maharashtra, India. It is often served with spicy green chutney and along with hot chai and is best eaten fresh. Sabudana Vada are the best option to have when fasting.

Sabudana Vada

Cooking Time: 20 Minutes

Pre-Preparation Time: 1 hours

Level Of Cooking: Medium

Serving: For 4 to 5 persons

Ingredients:

Sago: 250gm
Roasted Groundnut Powder: 150gm
Boiled Potato: 400gm
Ginger-chilly Paste: 5 Tablespoon
Lemon: 1 Or Lemon Juice: 1 Tablespoon
Red-chilly Powder: 1 Tablespoon
Mixed Spices Powder: 1/2 Tablespoon
Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves: 2 Tablespoon
Amaranth Or Water-chestnut Flour: 3 Tablespoon
Oil (to Fry): 400gm
Salt: As Per Taste

How To Cook:

Step 1: (Pre-preparation) Soak sago for 1 hour in water. Strain excess water. Spread sago on thick cloth and let it dry.

Step 2: (Pre-preparation) Boil Potatoes, peel and mash them.

Step 3: Add Sago, Mashed potatoes, groundnut powder, salt, ginger-chilly paste, mixed spices powder, finely chopped coriander leaves, red-chilly powder and lemon juice in a vessel. Mix well.

Step 4:
Prepare small tikkies (rolled flat balls) from the mixture. Keep them aside with a closed lid.

Step 5:
Heat oil on high flame. Shift to medium heat when it gets heated. Fry the tikkies till golden brown. Se...rve hot.

Note:
If while frying the tikkies separate; add amaranth flour or water-chestnut flour to the mixture of tikkies and fry.
